Indeed the list of thy holy Craig is right. It was a trim level on the Focus facelift that was supposed to replace the SVT, but didn’t because the ST sucked donkey balls.

It’s legit. Like jjhats said the ST’s had like 20 less horsepower than an SVT with an engine that displaced 0.3L more, the suspension was crazy soft, the five-speed was the same one as the regular Focus’s, and the tires were all-season Grand Tourings. None of that equaled anything worth driving.

The 2005-2007 Focus ST is a real car. It replaced the 2002-2004 Focus SVT but was worse in most ways.

They’re not bad, they’re just not a turbo ST. Higher output NA motor, stiffer suspension, and a manual transmission only. That was the “second gen” ST in the states.
